Ron Newby, our founder, was deeply moved by the poverty he witnessed in Uganda, back in 1983. But his decision to act came from his faith in Jesus Christ; his belief in God’s compassion for the poor and his conviction that the Bible instructs all Christians to care for the vulnerable.
His response in setting up Global Care was deeply rooted in his faith in Jesus Christ, and this faith is still at the heart of all that Global Care is and does.
We work with vulnerable children regardless of their own faith or ethnicity, seeking justice for all children, because we believe every child is unique and precious in the eyes of God. We are called to express and share the love of God through our actions, dependent on God’s faithfulness, recognising that He will provide the resources for this work.
Prayer is therefore vital to our work. We value our prayer supporters as much as those who give financial gifts, because we recognise that all we are able to achieve is dependent on the God we serve.
