Everyone likes an excuse for a party – especially if it involves cake…
Global Care’s Big Tea Party is an excuse to host a party and make a big difference to the lives of vulnerable children around the world.
This year, we’re inviting you to host a Big Tea Party in July. You could host a party in your house or garden, or get your community group or church involved. However you do it, every penny you raise will change the life of a child living in poverty!
What will the money I raise achieve?
Education is the most effective way of breaking the poverty cycle. Yet, in impoverished communities, education often falls to the wayside. Putting food on the table takes all a family’s time and energy, keeping generations trapped in poverty.
Some children are particularly vulnerable:
- Girls are often sidelined because of their gender.
- Some children are discriminated against because of their ethnicity, such as the Dalit community in India.
- Prejudice against children with HIV/AIDs means affected children are excluded from school.
- Children with disabilities can be disregarded by their communities or excluded from schools that are unable (or unwilling) to accommodate them.
- Abandoned or orphaned children are particularly vulnerable to neglect and abuse.
- Children who have experienced trauma or devastation from climate change struggle to engage with education.
But a child with education is a child with a future. When we help families in poverty get their children to school, we know it will change their world – for generations to come.

Hosting a Big Tea Party is simple:
- 1. Sign up to run a Big Tea Party in July for your family, friends & neighbours.
- 2. We’ll send you a wonderful, fully recyclable pack including recipes, placemats, posters, bunting and a collection box with personalised QR donation codes – so you know how much your event has raised. You can even request a Global Care ambassador to join you at your party.
- 3. Run your Big Tea Party, raising funds for Global Care’s work with vulnerable children.
