Claire McCann, FCA: Vice-Chair

Claire, a Chartered Accountant, spent many years working for KPMG before  becoming a Corporate Accountant at Greggs plc. Married to Tony since 2007, she has two teenage children.

Over the years, she has served in a number of contexts, including becoming Chair of Governors at a Special Educational Needs school in North Tyneside. The role had it challenges – budget deficits, disciplinaries and a change of Head but also some amazing highs. Watching the annual Christmas celebration and seeing the achievement and enjoyment of the children was humbling and uplifting. She also spent some time serving on the school PTA, where her boys attended, as Treasurer.

Claire is excited about the opportunity to work with Global Care, especially in the current climate, when the work of others has been placed in such sharp focus. Claire became Vice-Chair of Trustees in May 2025.
