Thursday 1st – Saturday 10th: This week we pray for Head of Operations, Paul, and Senior Operations Officer, Becky, as they visit our Uganda Projects. They arrived in Entebbe on 28th February.
On Thursday pray for Paul and Becky as they travel to Rukungiri in the South West of Uganda. Pray for good health and safe travel throughout their trip.
On Friday give thanks for Moses and Penlope, the Rukungiri team. Pray for health and strength in their work developing initiatives to improve living conditions and support education for very vulnerable children.
On Saturday pray for wisdom and vision as the Rukungiri and UK teams review the project and plan for future initiatives. Pray both teams will be blessed and inspired by their meetings.
On Sunday pray for our 35th Anniversary fundraising initiative targeting children with mobility difficulties in rural Rukungiri. Pray for a safe journey back to Kampala for Paul and Becky.
On Monday pray for the hostel in Mukono (east of Kampala) which generates income to support sponsorship of vulnerable children.
On Tuesday give thanks for Patrick and Catherine, the Kampala team. Pray for blessing and encouragement as they meet Becky and Paul, and for clarity of vision in discussing potential new initiatives.
On Wednesday pray for the extremely poor and vulnerable children supported by our Uganda partners in the face of ongoing drought, government workers’ strikes and increasing inflation. Pray for Becky and Paul travelling North to Soroti today.
On Thursday give thanks for Fred and David, the Soroti managers, and the team of 10 at the Soroti Centre. Pray for blessing and encouragement, wisdom and clarity, as they meet with Becky and Paul.
On Friday give thanks for the Ark disability day centre. Pray families will continue to be blessed by the support, welfare, physiotherapy and education provided at the Ark. Pray for the work to improve children’s life skills.
On Saturday pray for children supported with vocational training at all our Uganda projects. Pray young people will be equipped to earn a living and support themselves and their families.
Sunday 11th – Saturday 17th: This week John White, CEO, is travelling to Zambia with Joe, a volunteer from Coventry. We pray for our project in Zambia and our partners, New Life Action Foundation Trust.
On Sunday, Mother’s Day, pray for mothers, orphans, and child-headed families in our projects, that they know love, security and safety through family, friends and local partners. Pray for UK teams travelling back to Kampala and flying to Zambia.
On Monday pray for wisdom as Paul and Becky fly back to the UK and reflect on their time in Uganda. Pray for safe travel and good health throughout their trip for John and Joe who arrive in Lusaka, Zambia today.
On Tuesday pray for John and Joe who fly to Solwezi, the capital of the North Western Province, then drive to Kabompo to visit communities in “dark villages”. Pray for wisdom as they discuss a potential volunteer team visit to the area.
On Wednesday give thanks for generous supporters who have enabled community development in the area and sponsor 30 children. Pray for the sponsorship scheme enabling the most vulnerable children to access education and receive welfare and medical support.
On Thursday pray for the local team in Kabombo, give thanks for community support projects – the widows’ microfinance programme and the borehole. Pray for wisdom as John reviews the initiatives.
On Friday John and Joe travel back to Lusaka and start the flight home. Pray for clarity and vision as they discuss the visit and prepare to report back their findings.
On Saturday give thanks for Global Care UK staff and volunteers who travel to visit our projects. Pray trips throughout 2018 will be productive and encouraging, and a blessing to both local and UK teams.
Sunday 18th – Saturday 24th: This week we pray for our work and partners at our ‘Shack Schools’ in Lebanon and remember UN World Water Day on 22nd March.
On Sunday give thanks for our partners Out of the Wilderness working with Syrian refugees in Lebanon. Pray for protection and safety as they seek to provide education, welfare and healthcare.
On Monday pray for our ‘Shack Schools’ in the Bekaa Valley. Give thanks for children with no previous education now able to go to school. Pray they quickly adapt to school structure and enjoy learning.
On Tuesday give thanks for the team of teachers working at the schools. Pray for wisdom as they work with refugee families and pray families will learn to trust our local staff.
On Wednesday give thanks for generous donations enabling this work to continue and grow. Pray for wisdom and understanding for Global Care as they seek God’s direction for future work in the context of the Syrian crisis.
On Thursday, World Water Day, remember the 2.1 billion people living without safe drinking water at home; affecting their health, education and livelihoods. Pray for achievement of the Sustainable Development Goal committed to ensuring everyone has access to safe water by 2030.
On Friday pray for Global Care projects aimed at improving access to clean water including partnership with ‘Water for All’ in Uganda, and initiatives in Zimbabwe and Zambia.
On Saturday pray governments will respond to this year’s theme ‘Nature for Water’ – exploring nature-based solutions to the water challenges the world faces. Pray for Global Care’s local partners investigating sustainable solutions for access to clean water.
Sunday 25th – Saturday 31st: This week we remember Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross as we approach Easter and pray for our work with the most vulnerable and rejected communities.
On Sunday give thanks for the example of Jesus and pray for renewed faith in Him this Easter. Pray that through faith, Global Care will achieve its aim to treat everyone with respect and work for justice and equality for children in all situations.
On Monday give thanks for our partners working with despised and rejected communities in India, Albania, North Africa and Myanmar. Pray for safety and peace, and access to basic rights.
On Tuesday pray our projects continue to liberate children and help them realise their potential. Pray for our partnerships with government schools and for informal education and homework clubs provided by partners in 16 countries worldwide.
On Wednesday pray that God will show us as Global Care, and each of us as individuals, ways in which we can work together to relieve suffering and promote justice and peace.
On Maundy Thursday pray for all those who betray, and those betrayed, and for innocent victims everywhere.
On Good Friday remember the great sacrifice Jesus made on our behalf. May all we are, and all we do, be inspired and sustained by Him. Pray for the broken-hearted, that they will be healed.
On Saturday as the disciples mourned and wept after Jesus’ death, pray for those who mourn and weep today – that they would also see a new dawn of hope .
