Thursday 1st – Saturday 3rd: This week we pray for our project, and partners New Life Action Foundation Trust, in Kabompo District, North West Zambia.
On Thursday give thanks for Steven and the team in Zambia. Pray for blessing in their work providing education, feeding and medical care to extremely vulnerable children in remote rural villages.
On Friday pray for children denied education through poverty, sickness, family situation or disability. Give thanks for sponsorship which enables children to attend school, pray parents understand the value of regular school attendance.
On Saturday pray for a season of good health for children living in this area who are highly vulnerable to acute and long-term diseases, and who have limited access to healthcare.
Sunday 4th – Saturday 10th: This week we pray for our work in Lebanon with Syrian refugees, and for CEO John White who is visiting the project. We also pray for the new manager at our Kenilworth shop.
On Sunday give thanks for our partners Out of the Wilderness Lebanon. Pray for wisdom and safety for teachers working in our ‘Shack School’ providing basic education to refugee children and supporting their families.
On Monday pray for John as he travels to Beirut. Pray for good health and safe travel throughout his trip. Pray for God’s insight and vision as he meets the local team this week.
On Tuesday pray for John, and George the local Manager, as they visit the school in the Bekaa Valley, review the project, and discuss ways to improve reporting and measure progress.
On Wednesday pray for Peter, starting today as manager at our Kenilworth charity shop. Give thanks for the dedicated volunteer team and pray for a swift and easy transition to the change in management.
On Thursday pray for John as he flies home. Pray for encouragement and inspiration as he reflects on his visit. Give thanks for John’s family and their tireless support of Global Care.
On Friday pray for Syrian families who lost so much fleeing the war in their country. Give thanks that children previously denied education can attend our Shack School.
On Saturday pray for our 35th Anniversary Gala Dinner taking place tonight. Pray for an enjoyable evening celebrating Global Care’s work. Pray the auction raises significant funds for our anniversary appeal.
Sunday 11th – Saturday 17th: This week we reflect on Remembrance Sunday and pray for our partners Community Concern and our project in Sri Lanka.
On Remembrance Sunday remember those who have died in armed conflict around the world and pray for peace. Pray for the recently bereaved, including John our manager in Garissa, Kenya, whose mother died unexpectedly.
On Monday give thanks for our partners at Morning Star Care Centre (MSCC) in Dehiwela beach slum. Pray for their safety and strength, and for the vulnerable children who receive education, vocational training and welfare care.
On Tuesday pray for the MSCC field officer working in dangerous situations helping vulnerable children like Chimmy* and Georgia*. Pray these children recover from trauma and physical disability and find hope for their futures.
On Wednesday pray for communities struggling with the effects of extreme weather. Pray for physical safety and protection from diseases brought about by flooding and landslides from heatwaves and extended monsoons.
On Thursday pray the Kadella team are encouraged and blessed by positive results as they support children and families affected by HIV/AIDS. Pray that child and family health and welfare continue to improve.
On Friday pray for Heavena, and for women and children being supported after suffering domestic abuse. Give thanks for all the women who have rebuilt their lives in safety and independence through this project.
On Saturday pray for peace and restoration for children receiving psychological support at MSCC, Heavena and Kadella. Pray children learn to live without fear and understand their own value. Pray for safe travel for Jonathan who leaves for Bangladesh today.
Sunday 18th – Saturday 24th: This week we pray for our work in Bangladesh and for Jonathan, Head of Operations, visiting the project for the first time. We remember World Toilet Day, our Volunteer meal, and Fiona and Rob who are in Warwick.
On Sunday pray for good health and safe travel as Jonathan arrives in Bangladesh and meets our partners Love Your Neighbour. Pray for wisdom and understanding as he visits the work in Horintana and Kolatala.
On Monday, World Toilet Day, pray for the billions worldwide without safely managed sanitation. Pray for children and families in Bangladesh living with poor sanitation and lack of safe drinking water alongside poor healthcare access.
On Tuesday pray for insight and inspiration as Jonathan reviews community preschools. Pray for their continued effectiveness in preparing children from impoverished families for education in government schools.
On Wednesday pray for the orphaned and abandoned boys at the Home of Love. Pray for efforts to reunite the boys with family members. Pray local staff will be blessed and encouraged by Jonathan’s visit.
On Thursday pray that self-sufficiency initiatives flourish, and both support Home of Love and empower local families to develop sustainable incomes.
On Friday pray for joint insight for future planning as Jonathan understands the local team’s vision. Pray for safe travel as he flies to India. Give thanks for our volunteers and pray for a blessed and encouraging Volunteer Christmas Meal tonight.
On Saturday give thanks for Rob and Fiona and pray for their presentation in Warwick tonight. Pray people attending will be entertained and inspired by their music and stories about children they met on trips with Global Care.
Sunday 25th– Friday 30th: This week we pray for our partners in Kolkata as Jonathan travels to India for a management visit. We pray for our Christmas Appeal and the ‘Big Give’ which starts on 27th.
On Sunday give thanks for Emmanuel Ministries and the teams working in partnership with Global Care to provide formal and informal education to vulnerable children living in the slums of Kolkata.
On Monday pray Jonathan is encouraged when he visits Calcutta Emmanuel School (CES) and meets the local team. Pray for wisdom in discussions and pray children and teachers are blessed by their visitor.
On Giving Tuesday pray for generous donations to our Christmas Appeal this week. Gifts to our ‘Building ability in disability’ appeal donated via the Big Give website will be matched, £1 for £1, up to £13,000 as part of the Big Give Christmas Challenge**.
On Wednesday pray for the health and well-being of all the children living in slums or on the streets of Kolkata. Pray for solutions to the inadequate infrastructure, overcrowded housing and lack of sanitation experienced by many families.
On Thursday pray for children who attend the Pavement Club where they can play, learn, and eat healthy meals in a safe, caring environment. Pray for Jonathan as he flies home. Pray for clarity as the UK team discuss the visit findings.
On Friday give thanks for the wide-reaching impact of the work of Emmanuel Ministries, pray for community awareness programmes helping families find solutions to their challenging circumstances.
