Contemplate the meaning of ‘Peace on Earth’ this Christmas with our thought-provoking Christmas card, new for 2026.
The front cover, showing an angel appearing to shepherds, was drawn by a child supported by our partners in Bangladesh.
On the inside cover is a poem which challenges readers to think about how “peace on earth and goodwill to all men” was expressed in the ministry of Jesus, and what it might mean for us today.
The poem reads as follows:
Peace is not passive.
Peace is an action, born in the Christ-child
for women who were grieving,
lepers who were excluded,
men paralysed in sin.
Peace is a gift, paid for in blood,
unwrapped in the lives of
the lost, the broken, the despised,
the ignored.
Peace is an opportunity
to carry into broken lives
the hope of something better,
the light of something brighter.
“My peace I give to you,” Jesus said.
Where will you take it?
The message on the right simply reads ‘Happy Christmas’.
The back of the card points readers to Jesus, the Prince of Peace, and reflects on the work of Global Care in bringing peace to those in distress, with the following words:
When Jesus was born, the angels declared the arrival of“peace on earth”. For every generation since, it has been very hard to see this peace in the world… until we realise that this peace is not a quality so much as a person – Jesus, the Prince of Peace. As the poem inside this card explores, peace flowed from Jesus throughout his whole life. But that peace didn’t leave earth when he did. Instead, he left it with us, his followers. So what do we do with that peace?
Much of our work around the world is about bringing peace. From impoverished families living in distress, to traumatised children in war zones, to families broken apart by disaster and addiction – your donations allow our international partners to bring the peace of Christ to those in need. Not just at Christmas, but every day of the year.”
Each pack contains 10 Christmas cards with envelopes.
